Last night we went to the night market in Luang Probang. The market was much better than any in Thailand. There is a lot of silver stalls and I left feeling like I needed a silver crown!
The street food was exceptional -fantastic vegetable dumplings and a Laos buffet. They cook everything on a stick so I had a whole Mekong river fish on a stick!
Today we went to Kuang Si waterfalls. Just before the waterfalls there is a bear sanctuary. They were so cute!
We swam in the water and I did my highest tombstone yet over the waterfall! There was also a rope swing into the lagoon but I didn’t give that a go. We could feel little fish nibbling our feet, there was a fair bit of screaming! We only found out after we got out that there were leeches in there too but luckily they didn’t get us.
We walked further up through the jungle past huge trees to the biggest waterfall I have ever seen.
As we left we bumped into some friends from Pai!
We are staying with some girls from Windsor, Alisha and Yolly and will head to Vang Vieng tomorrow morning with them. We also have a friend, Jumpei from Tokyo. We’ve been teaching him English expressions and he’s hilarious!
It’s hard going around loving places and having to move on because of time restrictions but also all part of the fun! Hopefully we’ll fit in Vientiane, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Ho Chi Minh City before Cambodia and back through Bangkok to the islands for Halloween!
Tonight we’re going bowling after more awesome Laos food with Jumpei!
